Nerdy Things To Do This Weekend In Edmonton (Jan. 27-29)

Sometimes everything just sneaks up on you… As it turns out, this weekend is going to be pretty packed. No giant Convention but plenty of smaller events to keep everyone busy. Tonight you can check out the Academy Award-Nominated Sci-Fi film The Arrival at Metro Cinema, paint Batman with Art after Dark or learn to play an advanced board game at The Gamer’s Lodge. There’s also a musical comedy about the end of the world that run all weekend (The Star Killing Machine).

Saturday has another Hackathon, a local sale & spotlight at Variant Edition, a big Halo 5v5 tourney (with Cosplayers) at WEM and a chance to meet the Aurors Quidditch Club.

Finally Sunday has a Table Top market at the Table Top Café with local Nerdy (& Non-Nerdy) vendors selling their wares, January’s Podcast Meetup and a preview of the E-Sports Bar that a local team is trying to launch (I’ll definitely be there checking it out!).
