It might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to gaming in Edmonton but the team at the Microsoft Store in West Edmonton Mall is really starting to focus on community gaming events (They’ll be at the upcoming Alberta Beat Down in August… for example). I don’t have a firm date on some what’s coming up but there’s a special “Halo Event” coming in August that sounds interesting/mysterious…

HEARTHSTONE SUMMER QUALIFIER https://aka.ms/by4hu6
Saturday July 15th
12pm – 8pm
The West Edmonton Mall Microsoft Store will be hosting a Hearthstone tournament! On July 15th, from 12pm until 8pm, come compete against other Hearthstone players within the Edmonton community for a chance to win fantastic prizes! This will be a large-scale tournament, and multiple devices with Hearthstone installed will be available for players to use, however players must be using their own accounts on the device.
The winner of this competition will be eligible to participate in the Tavern Hero Tournament for a chance to earn a spot at the 2017 Hearthstone Americas Summer Playoffs.
All players must have 3 standard only decks, and no two decks may be the same class. Decks cannot be altered once entered into the tournament or the player risks being disqualified.
The tournament will be conquest format, meaning matches will be a best of 5, and the first player to win 3 games (once with reach deck) wins.
When a player wins a game with a deck, they may no longer use that deck in the match. If a player loses a game with a deck, they may choose to use the same deck again or use a deck of their choice. Players will be told what classes their opponent has, however they will not know what deck they chose to play until both players have chosen.
Tournament rules will be explained in full detail at the event.
You must link your Facebook to your Battle.Net account as to avoid any login issues! Unable to login under 3 minutes risks forfeiting the match.
