Nerdy Things to do in Edmonton This Weekend Aug. 25th-27th

Another rushed Friday morning post but getting it in there all the same! Your highlight this weekend is still the Fringe but also the Alberta Beat Down 2017. In it’s eighth year now, it’s Edmonton’s largest Fighting Game Tournament. It’s also a qualifier for events elsewhere. If you’re been sharpening up your Tekken, Street Fighter, Injustice 2 (or any other game currently in rotation) make sure to check it out this weekend!

Beyond that, there’s a host of board game-related events going on. The Makerspace downtown has its regular board game night in the rotation tonight, there’s an advanced game night tonight at the Gamers’ Lodge, GOBFest’s GOBlets’ are back touring Edmonton with Near & Far and Brian from Table Top has brought back a host of unreleased games from GenCon (he’ll have events at both locations on different days).

I also have to call special attention to the League Of Legends tournament being run at the Microsoft Store tomorrow. They’ve got special rewards from Riot Games and you get special rewards just for playing.

Have a great weekend everyone and let me know if I’ve missed anything by e-mailing me at info@EdmontonNerdList.com!
